Dura-Flex™ deck coating is the ideal coating for all outdoor wood. While other coatings need to be re-applied every couple of years, Dura-Flex™ forms a clear plastic film that adheres to the surface of the wood and is extremely tough. It gives the wood a beautiful, furniture grade appearance. It is not an oil or a paint. While other wood coatings utilize oils or waxes that penetrate into the wood and are eventually drawn out by the sun, Dura-Flex™ bonds a plastic polymer film directly onto the surface of the wood. It is perfect for decks, docks, playground equipment, fences  and all other natural or stained outdoor wood. While some of the highest quality wood coatings utilize fillers and only 22% or less of actual polymer, Dura-Flex Plastic Coating™ contains 42% polymers which is one reason it last longer than other wood coatings. 

The protective coating bonds to the outer fibers of the wood eliminating many moisture problems associated with wood exposed to the weather. It will keep wood looking new and prevents ugly mold and mildew developing deep in the grain and splits in the wood. The finish reflects harmful rays of the sun that can burn the surface of exposed wood into a dull, grayish color. But best of all, Dura-Flex™ protects your family from nasty splinters and the harmful effect of exposure to chromated copper arsonate (CCA), the chemical used for years in pressure treated wood. CCA has been banned by the government and the EPA is warning people to seal their CCA treated wood with a high molecular weight polymer coating to prevent the direct contact of skin with the cancer causing chemical. Dura-Flex™  is a very high molecular weight coating.

   

 

 

Wood is like a sponge, prone to absorb water. The constant swelling and shrinking after drying causes it to split and splinter. Wet wood creates an ideal situation for mildew and mold growth, turning decks into a greenish or black color. Dura-Flex™ seals the wood and prevents unwanted water absorption. It is engineered to allow a minute amount of vapor to pass through the coating to keep wood in prime condition and preventing erosion. With Dura-Flex Plastic Coating™, outdoor wood will stay looking new and you will no longer need to apply sealers every year or two.
