Are there other coating products
available like AM-VI-CO®
Liquid Vinyl?
Not really. There are companies that have similar names and
advertise spray on coatings and liquid sidings, but that's where the similarity ends.
There is only one AM-VI-CO®
Liquid Vinyl Siding. For over 20 years property owners across
the United States have been trusting AM-VI-CO®
Liquid Vinyl to protect their
homes and businesses. While other companies market spray-on coatings
that are nothing more than modified formulas of ordinary paint, our
unique vinyl coating is composed of technologically advanced PVC vinyl resins,
the same high quality PVC resin used to
manufacture traditional vinyl siding panels. Our coating is guaranteed to last.
We are proud of our two-decade reputation for quality and excellence.
For uncompromised beauty and lasting durability, Liquid Vinyl Siding
is an investment that will save you money and put an end to the
endless painting cycle.

Are Liquid Vinyl Siding-USA dealers licensed and insured?
Yes, Liquid Vinyl Siding-USA dealers are required to be fully
licensed and insured. The certified contractors who install the LVS
system are thoroughly trained on application procedures and
manufacturer specifications. By working with an authorized Liquid Vinyl
Siding dealer, you are assured a professional installation and complete satisfaction.

Can I buy the Liquid Vinyl coating directly from you and apply it myself?
Liquid Vinyl Siding is
sold through our authorized dealers, who apply the product according
to rigid manufacturer guidelines in order to assure guaranteed performance and long-term
protection. Call 1-866-557-9063 for product availability if there is
not a dealer in your area.

Does Liquid Vinyl Siding help insulate?
Yes, but only to the extent of sealing the structure and
reducing conduction and convection heat loss in winter and gain in
summer. Insulating value (R-value) in a coating products is difficult to measure.
Beware of insulation claims made by other coating products. They are
typically unverifiable and the FTC is
disciplining companies making fictitious
insulation claims. A spray on coating or a ceramic paint cannot
provide insulation equal to that inside the walls, nor will it
significantly reduce
your energy bills. The true value of Liquid Vinyl
Siding is in the elimination of future maintenance, continuing beautiful appearance
and what it can add to the property's resale value.

How long has Liquid Vinyl Siding been in existence?
Liquid Vinyl was originally developed in England over 35 years ago. Liquid Vinyl Siding - USA
introduced the product to the United States in 1986. For over 20
years Liquid Vinyl Siding has been marketed across the U.S.A.. AM-VI-CO®
Liquid Vinyl is time tested and has proven to work in all climates,
even
under the most extreme of weather conditions.
< top >
How thick is Liquid Vinyl Siding?
Generally speaking, Liquid Vinyl Siding is about ten to fifteen times thicker than an
average coat of paint. Standard
paints consist of about 70% to 80% liquids which
will evaporate as the paint dries. Only 20% to 30% of the actual solid paint
is left on
the surface. Liquid Vinyl has a much higher percentage of
solids, about 70% solid particles. A coat of dry paint is about one mil (1/1,000 inch)
thick, that's as thin as a Glad sandwich bag or 4 times thinner than a sheet of printer paper (4 mils).
AM-VI-CO®
Liquid Vinyl dries to about 14
mils, and combined with the bonder, leaves a total film thickness of about 18 mils
of coating. Regular paint and stains do not provide
enough needed protection and will not last very long when exposed to the
weather.

How do I clean Liquid Vinyl Siding?
When necessary, simply hose it down with a garden hose. If you
prefer to pressure wash, it will not hurt the coating. Ordinary household cleansers such as
Spic & Span or a solution of bleach and water can be used without harming
the coating.
< top >
My house has several colors on it, can more than one color be
applied?
Yes, we can coat a home with multiple colors or any combination of
colors.
< top >
Do I have to coat the entire structure or can I just coat
selected parts, such as trim?
We can coat only those parts you want covered.
< top >
But I have a brick house?
Even brick homes still have a lot of wood that needs to be protected,
such as the eves, wood trim around windows and door openings, railing,
columns, porch ceilings, etc. Applying Liquid Vinyl to these
areas can make the entire exterior maintenance-free.

Can I change the color of my house, or
if I sell it can the
new owner change the color?
Yes! The color can be changed by applying a thin coat of
fresh vinyl over the existing vinyl. The cost is usually less expensive than regular
painting since little surface preparation is needed and not much
additional product is needed for a color change. Liquid Vinyl can be
painted over using a quality primer and latex paint but this will
void the warranty.
< top >
Can Liquid Vinyl Siding be applied to stucco, block, brick,
aluminum, etc?
Yes, Liquid Vinyl Siding can be applied to most paintable surfaces.
< top >
Can it go over existing vinyl siding
or aluminum siding to renew
or change the color?
Yes! Liquid Vinyl Siding can be used to coat over traditional vinyl siding
and aluminum siding to
change the color or renew the existing color.
< top >
What about preparation, do I need to have that done before
applying Liquid Vinyl Siding?
Surface preparation is absolutely crucial. We take care of all
the preparation before installing the Liquid Vinyl system. Each
project involves different preparation steps depending on the type,
age and condition of the surfaces. Mold and mildew is removed and surfaces are cleaned. Rotted or faulty wood is replaced
and surfaces are routinely scraped, sanded and caulked. Rust or
other oxidation is removed and sealed. Moisture levels in the wood surface
are checked
before coating. We will thoroughly prepare all surfaces before
applying the Liquid Vinyl bonder and top coat of Liquid Vinyl
Siding.

How can I find out how much Liquid Vinyl will cost?
Due to the difference in labor, insurance and permit costs in
different parts of the country,
only the local dealer servicing your area can provide you with pricing
information. Each project is unique depending on the many
factors involved. Your dealer will arrange for a representative to
come out and look at your project and provide you with a free
estimate.
