As in any coating, proper preparation of the surface is essential for the coating to perform as it was intended. The amount of preparation needed will vary depending on the type, age and condition of the surface. Authorized Liquid Vinyl dealers become certified by going through an installation training course to learn how to properly prepare substrates and apply Liquid Vinyl Siding products according to specific manufacturer guidelines and specifications. An authorized dealer will install Liquid Vinyl Siding following a ten step process. Although Liquid Vinyl Siding can be applied over most paintable surfaces, it is specifically not recommended for decks and other horizontal surfaces and should not be used for roofing applications.

STEP 1 Inspection
Visual inspection of the entire structure. Surfaces are thoroughly inspected and if any problems are found, are taken care of before the application begins. Although there are basic steps taken with every project, the surface preparation will vary depending on the specific substrate being coated.

STEP 2: Pressure Cleaning
Surfaces are thoroughly cleaned using a fungicide with high pressure cleaning equipment. This ensures that grease, mold, mildew, dirt, pollen and other contaminants are completely removed. A clean surface is absolutely necessary for any exterior coating.

STEP 3: Repair and/or replace damaged surfaces
The long-term success of a coating requires that the surface be in good repair. Bad boards are repaired or replaced and bare wood is sealed. A stain block may be used for wood susceptible to leaching or tannin bleed.

STEP 4: Scrape, sand and seal
Rough surfaces are scraped and the edges are feather sanded to give a professional appearance. Energy loss can be a problem due to air leaks and poor or non-existent caulking. Failing caulk is replaced and cracks splits and gaps are filled with a special water resistant filling compound with a 50-year rating  to create a more energy efficient home. Great care is taken to ensure that the surfaces are properly prepared to achieve maximum adhesion of the LVS products. Windows, doors and trim are masked. Hardware and fixtures are either covered or temporarily removed to protect against splatters. Decks, railing, fences and other areas are shielded or covered to protected against overspray. We also understand that your landscape is important to you and special care is taken to protect your plants, flowers, trees and property.

STEP 5: Pre-Application inspection
Another inspection is performed by the applicator before they begin to apply the Liquid Vinyl Siding products. Surfaces are rechecked to make sure all preparations are completed.

STEP 6: First Part of the system: Bonding Agent
Once the meticulous preparation steps are completed, the first part of the LVS system is applied. A base coat that contains a bonder specially formulated for the Liquid Vinyl system is applied to all surfaces. This will provide a solid foundation for the vinyl finish coat and fuse the coating to the surface.

STEP 7: Second Part of the system: Liquid Vinyl topcoat
The Liquid Vinyl topcoat is applied very thick and then back rolled to push the coating into cracks, grooves and textured areas to eliminate potential air pockets that may occur beneath the coating. It also ensures substantially better adhesion to the surface. You will notice a thick, rich, luxurious low luster finish that is smooth to the touch and 15 times thicker than regular paint.

STEP 8: Detail touch up
Masking tape will be removed and the applicators will closely inspect the coating. They will touch up as needed to give your home a neat, professional look.

STEP 9: Clean job site
The workers will clean the job site, re-attach fixtures and replace items that may have been moved, returning your home to its original condition.

Step 10: Final inspection and Satisfaction Guaranteed
Customer satisfaction is priority No. 1. A job is not complete until you are 100% satisfied. A final visual inspection is performed. We take as much pride in your home as you do. Your authorized dealer will issue you a written manufacturer warranty and submit the necessary paperwork to the manufacture for your installation.
